The Book that Started it All

The idea fro a straw bale garden came from the book "Straw Bale Gardens- Complete". It is available at the Brantford Public Library as well as on Amazon.ca. The book is very detailed and describes all of the steps that we will need to follow in order to grow our own vegetables out of straw bales. There is no dirt involved so there will be less weeds. The straw retains water extremely well and should provide our vegetables with a source of food as it decomposes.

We are looking forward to watching our plants grow and harvesting in the Fall.
